Understanding colour healing

We are surrounded by colours every day of our lives but how many of us think to do use them to improve our health, alter our emotional state or boost our morale? Colour is pure energy. Each colour has its own energy vibration, life-enhancing quality and healing action. To be healthy a person needs energy from all colours in the spectrum.

Colours can heal and comfort. They can soothe and energise, unlock our creativity, change our mood, release energy blockages and alleviate physical, mental and emotional stress. They can help us to change our attitude which may be holding us back in our life. It is easy to learn how to bring healing and energising colour into our lives through our food, drink, clothes and décor. We can learn how to visualise colour, meditate with colour, use coloured crystals and bring balance back to our body and mind with healing methods. By incorporating healing with colour into our lives we can benefit from their energetic vibrations and healing properties.

With the pressures of modern living, many of us find that a good standard of health and well-being is becoming more difficult to achieve. We all take more medicines than ever before and many of us need outside help in order to give ourselves energy, calm us down and help us to sleep. We can often do this by ourselves and for ourselves. By being aware of colour and getting to know what it can do for us we can bring our energy back into balance and improve our well-being.

Although considered to be a complementary therapy colour healing is increasingly being used within modern medical care. Chromotherapy was developed in the 1920s and can be used in hospitals to treat ailments with coloured light.

Blue light is used to soothe inflammation and the pain of arthritis. Blue light can also reduce high blood pressure. It is given to premature babies to prevent brain damage or death through an underdeveloped liver. It is also used to treat jaundice in newborn babies. Red light is used to treat poor circulation, stiff joints and migraine.

Each colour has its own vibration. These vibrations and the energy that they transmit can have powerful effects on the different energy vibrations in a human being. Colour therapy can be used for balancing, harmonising and attuning body, mind and spirit. Through this balancing and attuning colours help us to heal ourselves.

Understanding Colours
Healing Colours
Generally reds, oranges and yellows are warm colours. These colours and energise us and make us feel happy. Blues, indigos and purples are soothing, calming and cooling and will calm us down and also help us to relax.

Change Colour and Change Mood
Colours can influence a change of mood and attitude. If you lack certain qualities or need to temper others, use colours. Orange’s are best for creativity and assertiveness. Use turquoise if you have a tendency to drive yourself too hard. Blue is the best colour to use when you’re angry as it is calming.

Coloured Light
Using coloured lights is one of the most simple, powerful and effective ways of correcting imbalances in the human system. It is easy to focus the colour on the exact problem area. You can also bathe the whole body in colour for overall toning and maintenance of health and wellbeing. Using coloured light is also known to have positive effects for Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) sufferers. The equipment can be such as colour lamps, filters, torches, light boxes etc can easily be purchased. It is possible for you to easily make your own colour healing equipment more cheaply.

Coloured Food
We all know that we should eat our greens. Yellow, red and a good mixture of all other colours are also beneficial to us. Purple and Indigo food helps calm, relaxation (grapes, blueberries, aubergine, beetroot) and with weight gain. White foods cleanse and purify (cauliflower, onion, mushrooms).

Coloured Drink
With a juicer and a book on making juices and/or 'smoothies' you can make many coloured drinks. For each chakra, you can make a vegetable or fruit cocktail with the colour of the chakra, mixed with milk, Soya milk, rice milk, coconut milk or yoghurt for the benefit of all colours of the spectrum which are contained in white.

Dress for Health
The colours we wear contribute to our healing or to a change of mood. Choose your clothes to:

* Balance your chakras and their related area of the body or mind * Treat a particular ailment * Boost your energy and vitality * Enhance your mood * Change your mood * Alleviate an emotional or psychological state

HEALING MIND, BODY AND SPIRIT Healing and Repose
Our health depends on the balance of activity and repose of our five senses. Sight, smell, hearing, taste, and touch in a healthy person must be able to express themselves. More time is required for the repose of the senses than for their activity. Everyone passes every moment of their wakeful state using each of their senses, partly by intention, partly accidentally. For instance, the eyes look at things when you require that they do so. More times than this the eyes see things without intentionally looking. This shows a waste of energy in an average man's life.

In order to develop healing power we must regulate the control of the senses by regulating their activity and repose. This is achieved through spiritual thought and converts power of mind into divine power. A person with power of mind alone can heal but the results will be limited. A person with divine power can obtain unlimited results through using it.

The amount of activity a person can do and how much repose is necessary is dependant upon the condition of the person’s health. A general rule cannot be made for everyone. A normal amount of activity stimulates and strengthens the body. Physical exercises are given for physical development and exercises of concentration and studies are given for the development and repose of mind. According to psychic law, the day is natural time for activity and the night is for repose. When this is not carried out the body’s health suffers. It is not necessary that after every activity you must take repose but you should maintain some degree of balance. It is advisable in to take repose when needed without allowing it to develop into laziness.

Breath
Breath is the first essential power that can help in healing. There is a silent healing, and a healing by focusing the glance, by holding the painful part with the fingers, by rubbing the painful part, by waving the hand on the painful part, and by touching and not touching the part. Behind these different ways there is one power working. That is the power of the breath. The power can be developed by breathing practices and when the breath is sufficiently developed that it creates an atmosphere around the healer, the presence of the healer heals. The power of the breath can be developed by physical exercises, by rhythmic breathing exercises, by pure living, and by concentration.

The power of healing is greater than the power of the channels one uses to heal, such as the fingertips or eyes. The eyes have more power than the fingertips. They are fine and the power that manifests through them is radiant. Power is not so radiant in the fingertips. Aside from the power of healing, the healer must have a clear perception of the complaint of another person and knowing what would be the best way to heal that person.

Healing with the Tips of the Fingers
Hygiene is the first subject to consider in healing with the tips of the fingers. Hands that have been engaged in any work or that are stained with any liquid must be washed. Even after shaking hands with a person the hands must be washed prior to being used for healing. The healer must ensure they keep their body and clothes pure and clean. This is especially so at the time of healing. At the time of healing, the sleeves must be rolled back and the fingernails must be properly trimmed and clean. After healing, the healer should wave the hand in a shaking motion to shake off any fine atoms or vibrations so that a poison taken from the painful part of the patient may not be given to the patient again.

There are cases when the sensation of the body is dead by the pain, and the pain has gone deep into the affected part of the body. In this case, waving the hand or touching is not enough. Rubbing would be necessary. In cases of the effects of poison from the sting of a bee or the bite of any other poisonous animal, a soft touch or stroking of the affected part is necessary. If the pain is more intense, touch is not necessary. The waving of the hand close to the affected part is what is required. In the case of the bite of a dog, put some lime mixed with water on a copper coin and tie it on the part that the teeth have touched. The rest of the affected part must be healed by touching and stroking it with the tips of the fingers. Bites of mosquitoes and midges may be cured by applying butter that has been boiled and allowed to cool. After the cooled butter is applied waving the hand over the affected part will heal. Rosewater may be used for bites of all kinds but is especially good in cases of severe inflammation.

The Tracing of Disease
For instance, a person with a complaint that originates from melancholy will have a liking for purple. A person who has lost control of his passions will be attracted to red. A person who is lifeless and who has an inclination to emptiness will have a tendency towards white because no colour will appeal to them. A person who has gone through a sorrow and mourned over things and weakened his heart by it will have a preference towards black.

The patient who shows an inclination to sweet foods shows weakness of heart and as a result, general weakness. The patient who prefers savoury foods lacks circulation. There are many more things in the patient that a healer can perceive, not only from his inclinations and preferences but by noticing his face and feature. In this way the healer reads more than by anything else. The feature tells the general characteristic and a person knows the weakness that may have been the origin of the complaint. The general expression shows the thought behind it. Since mind is the cause of all causes, the healer gets at the root of the complaint as soon as he touches the mind of the patient.

The Chief Reason of Every Disease
In human nature when we speak we tend to speak more and more quickly, until the speed is so increased that we leave out several words of the sentence without any intention of doing so. The same is true of walking. The speed of the walk increases with every step until a person finds themselves almost running. The imagination is also the same. One could also say the same thing regarding the pulsation of the body and the circulation of the blood. The uncontrolled increase of speed in all its aspects hastens the climax. When unbalanced this can have disastrous results. A healer without this knowledge is a blind healer and one who does not know the cause of diseases. His healing is a chance. The healer who knows this is more than a physician and more than a healer. This healer will control his own activity and the power of control gained will enable them to control the activity of others, in order to keep the balance normal, which is the true health of mind and body.

The Reason for Tiredness
When a person thinks, "I am tired," the very thought creates the feeling of tiredness in support of the thought. Reason brings forward a thousand reasons that seem to have caused the tiredness. There are some people who think that the presence of people, or certain people or person tires them. Some people think that their energy, their life, is eaten by some people. Some think that a particular action takes away their energy. Some think that their strength is taken out of them by everyday duty in life or the work they do, such as singing, speaking, doing bodily or mental work. As they think, they experience.

There is no doubt that every kind of activity uses some energy from a person. By thinking, one increases the loss of energy. By preserving the energy and using it economically, one saves energy to a great extent. There is a spiritual way by which one can expend energy with every activity that requires its expenditure. At the same time one can absorb more energy than what one loses Energy can be absorbed from all around us. It is for this reason that religion has given the conception of God being almighty.

Those who consider Him to be far away in heaven keep away from Him. Those who realize the meaning of the teaching in the Bible that "we live and move and have our being in God," they feel Him at all times by their side. When consciousness of wealth makes one feel rich and when consciousness of strength makes one feel strong, how much stronger and richer they should feel who is really God-conscious!

Balance
A healer often finds patients whose complaints may be different yet many of them originated by the lack of balance. Balance is the most difficult thing in life to keep for anybody and for everybody. Many times a healer succeeds in curing a patient by just showing them some practices by which they can attain balance.

Balance is gained in different ways and can even be achieved in ordinary actions such as sitting, lying, standing, and walking. Other methods of achieving balance includes standing with even force given on both legs, sitting cross-legged or on the knees, both having the equal weight of the body, as well as kneeling, walking rhythmically with an even force given to the swing of both arms. By eating and drinking regularly, working and resting, sleeping and rising, one gets balance. The first thing a healer should consider when treating a patient is that they must give the patient balance.

Pain
Among Sufis, dervishes have tried to become pain proof by inflicting themselves with cruel injuries. These types of injuries include whipping of the bare arms, cutting the muscles of the body, piercing the body with knives or taking the eyes out of their sockets and replacing them in their sockets again. By this they have discovered a truth and have given it to the thinking world that the mind can refuse to partake in bodily pain. By doing so the bodily pain is much less felt than it would otherwise be.

When the mind goes to receive bodily pain, out of fear or self-pity, it increases the pain and makes it much more than it would otherwise be. The properties that fear or self-pity add to the pain are ninety-five percent. The first thing that the healer must do in curing patients suffering pain is to erase the pain from the surface of the patient's mind by suggestion and also through the use of healing power. In the absence of help on the part of the mind, the body must give up pain for it has no power to hold it longer in the absence of mind.

Healing by Medicine
The idea is that mankind is more conscious of the objective world and its activity than of any other plane of existence. By eating or drinking, holding or possessing a certain thing, the impression upon them becomes more realistic. The thought of the healer that should ease the mind is often hindered when the external senses of the patient are not fully responsive to it. When the patient eats or drinks something, tastes something, or feels something applied to or touching the painful part, the sense or senses become the medium for the healer's thought to proceed through them to reach the mind of the patient. The knowledge of the physical medium is most essential for a healer. Every psychic operation requires a medium. Through a distinct and responsive medium, every psychical work meets with success.

The Psychical Nature of Diseases
Disease is often caused by a lack of rhythm, be it in thought, feeling, in the breath, in action, or in everyday life. For instance, to stay up in the night when one is used to sleeping, to change the usual dinner hour, to take a nap when one is not used to doing so; anything that one is not used to doing puts the person out of rhythm. People who are used to being angry or quarrelling would become ill if they were not permitted to continue doing so. Every habit forms a rhythm.

The fear of catching a disease is also a cause of illness. There are people who wonder whether they are ill or not and they try to find out if there is something wrong with them. There are some who enjoy self-pity or the sympathy of others. These invite disease. Some entertain disease when they are to a certain point unwell. They wish to surround themselves with the environment of a patient, or try to take a lazy life. By doing so, naturally the mind holds the disease longer because it has been permitted to do so.

There are many other causes. Among them the most unfortunate is the impression that, "I have got an illness that can never be cured." This impression is worse than a disease. In fact the soul of every individual, healthy or ill, is pure from any pain or disease and it constantly heals mind and body. If it were not for the mind and body, which increase illness, a person would always be well. It is natural to be healthy and all illness, pain or discomfort is unnatural.

In Sanskrit, breath is called prana, which means life. This prana not only gives life but it gives life to another person too. Sometimes the presence of someone fills you with life and sometimes the presence of someone, so to speak, takes away your life from you. One feels tired and depressed and eaten up by the presence of one person and another's presence gives you added strength, life, and vigour. This is all accounted for by the breath. The one who has more life gives life; the one who has less life takes it from the one who has more. Sometimes the stronger one takes away what little life is left in the weaker one and sometimes the weaker one gives out his life to the stronger one. Who takes away the life in fact absorbs the life from another. In the presence of that person even flowers fade sooner and plants die. Many deaths occur and many lives are retained by the phenomena of the breath.

For the healer there is no greater source of healing than the means of the breath. They can breathe upon the affected part of the patient as easily as one can cast a glance upon a painful part. Even objects that a healer's breath has magnetized carry with them the power of healing. If touch makes a certain mark of the perspiration and fingers upon a thing, why should breath not have the same effect as it is the very essence of life. When the breath is developed and purified, it is not necessary for the healer even to make an effort to throw their breath upon the patient. The atmosphere that their breath creates, the very presence of the healer brings about a cure, for the whole atmosphere becomes charged with magnetism.

There are many physical causes of various aspect of insanity but a keen study of the subject will prove the fact that insanity is mostly due to mental causes. Some lack of balance caused by intensity or excess of a certain thought and feeling is found to be at the root of every cause of insanity. The physician fails to cure such cases especially the one who traces the cause of insanity in its outer manifestations and in the physical body. Every cause has an external effect and yet it is a mistake to take the effect for the cause.

It is not generally a medicine or even surgical operations or any external applications that can be of great use. It’s more the work of a healer than of a physician to cure insanity. Like every disease insanity could easily be cured in its earlier stages. It is the work of a healer again to recognize the signs of insanity in their primary state as such signs are not noticed in a person ordinarily. They are passed over as "something funny" or "queer" about a person. The first step to healing insanity is to get at the root of the complaint by association with the subject and as soon as the root of the complaint is touched a great relief is brought already, even before healing. Thought power alone is the remedy for the cure of insanity.

Loss of memory, confusion, puzzlement, instantaneous temper and passion are some of the signs of the beginning of insanity. Insanity is inherited from the family but it can be traced in several weaknesses and vices, among these drink, fondness for drugs, unnatural habits, too much worry, anxiety, and allowing melancholy thoughts to develop. These are all things that cause insanity.

The work of the healer is to catch the primary cause of insanity and that is loss of memory. It is caused by weakness of the mind. The mind does not have sufficient power to bring forward the thought entrusted to it at the command of the will. It is this which may be called loss of memory and it must be healed and cured in its very beginning. The primary stage is the extreme activity of mind which results in an extreme, thoughtless anger or passion and then repentance comes. This should be avoided at its beginning. Guilty conscience, fear of consequences and doubting tendencies are like fuel to the fire of insanity. A pure, thankful, useful life, a constant thought of appreciating things and avoiding blaming things and people and conditions all help to keep away the germ of insanity.

The Psychological Nature of Diseases
There is a part of one's life which only could be called life. There is no other name appropriate for it and the English phrase "to pull oneself together" means to set that part of life to work. This part of life may be called spirit, intelligence and power. It is intelligence because any part of the body and mind, or every part of both in which it dwells, it makes sensitive. It is powerful because whichever part of the body and mind it touches it strengthens.

In games and sports, when people jump down from a great height what is it that protects them from hurt? It is this spirit and they have in their habit to call this spirit to their aid. When people throw balls at each other and even in boxing the receiver of the blow awakens this spirit in that part on which he receives the blow. The sportsman does not know what this spirit is though he takes refuge in it.

By the mastery of this spirit, diseases are cured, age is mastered and even death is conquered. When this spirit is lacking, energy is lacking, intelligence is lacking, joy is lacking, rest is lacking and when there is this spirit there is hope, joy and rest because the nature of this spirit is to hold intact the body of atoms and vibrations. Comfort lies in its being held. Discomfort comes when that spirit is not sufficient to hold the body intact. It is the lack of this spirit that is the cause of a great many diseases. By the development of this spirit in himself, the healer can give a part of his spirit to another and that becomes the best source of healing.

Almost every disease is originated from the mind, even when one catches infectious diseases. It does not mean that in all cases it must be wickedness of the mind. If this were the case, the good people would never be ill but it cannot be overlooked that it is the weakness of the mind that allows the disease to enter. Also there is negligence, oversight and irregularity, mental and physical, which cause diseases. Life and death are two forces, constructive and destructive and there is continually fighting between these two forces. There are moments when one power wins and the success of that power is either better health or disease and death.

It is necessary that the body should be ready and fit enough to fight this battle. The mind still has a greater part to perform and when the mind fails to perform this the body with all its fitness is incapable of retaining health. If the mind is capable of keeping health the body obeys this to a great extent. The harmony of both mind and body is essential to fight the battle of life.

It is nature that life lives upon life just as all carnivorous animals live upon the flesh of another animal and sometimes on their own element. That shows that life sustains its body by the same element of which it is made. The human body is made of the food he eats and it is according to the life in the food he eats that his life becomes. Little insects which live on flowers create the beauty of the flower in their body. Insects that are fed on leaves sometimes become green and beautiful like a leaf but insects living in the earth have a similar body.

This teaches us that the form of the human body depends upon the food we eat. Any decay in the vegetables we eat and any diseases in the animal whose flesh we consume all impacts on the human beings health. Brahmins, who have been the most scientific and philosophical people in the world, have always argued that this is so. In the West, although there is a continual scientific discovery and discussion on hygienic life, food amongst other things is overlooked. Many have to take their food in public places where it is impossible that a special consideration should be given to this effect. Amongst animals there is a difference. There are some clean animals and some unclean animals. Their flesh differs in the way it influences the health and mind of a person. The question what the mind has to do with bodily food may be answered in this way. Alcoholic drink has an effect on the mind so it could be argued that every atom of food has a particular effect.

There are three kinds of food: Sattva, which gives nourishment with calm and peace, Rajas, which gives stimulus to work and move about and Tamas, which aids sleep, gives laziness and confusion. A healer must become aware of all kinds of food and their effects in order to ascertain whether or not the patient’s eating habits is the cause of the illness. This is true in many cases. The healer can also then advise the patient how best to keep themselves in a condition that they may be able to heal successfully.

There are many people who may be called "of nervous temperament," who have a tendency if they walk, to walk quickly; if they work, to work with a hustle, if they talk, to talk quickly, so quickly that they may drop words and make the listener confused. They may also in a moment to flare up in temper or be inclined to laugh or cry easily. This condition in a way gives a kind of joy but it also weakens a person and takes away from them their self control. The end result is usually nervous diseases. It begins as an indulgence in an activity and ends in weakness. Many mental diseases are caused by a negative state of mind and body. From childhood, there is an inclination to this, especially among children of nervous temperament. No disease can be worse than an increasing weakness of the nerves and life is not worth living when the control over the self is lost.

Humans do not only constitute matter in their being but also in spirit. However well-built a body we may have and its mechanism in good working order, there is still something that is wanted in him. The physical body is sustained by material food and drink, breath from the air, mind by thoughts and imaginations and impressions. But there is something besides mind and body that humans possess in their being. That is their spirit which is a divine light. Sunshine makes us feel bright but it is not only the sunshine that is needed for the spirit. The human soul is like a planet and as the planet is illuminated by the sun so the human spirit is illuminated by the light of God. However healthy and joyful we may look we are not really healthy. We must have some spiritual touch, some opening in our hearts which would let the light of God come in.

PRANIC HEALING
Pranic Healing is a simple, powerful and effective no touch form of energy healing. It is based on the fundamental principle that the body is a "self-repairing" living entity that possesses the ability to heal itself. Pranic healing works on the principle that the healing process is accelerated by increasing the life force or vital energy on the affected part of the physical body. Pranic healing is based on the overall structure of the human body. Our body is composed of two parts: the visible physical body and the invisible energy body called the bioplasmic body or aura. The visible physical body is that part of the human body that we see, touch, and are most acquainted with. Our aura is that invisible luminous energy body, which interpenetrates the visible physical body and extends beyond it. Traditionally, clairvoyants and energy healing

practitioners call this energy body the etheric body or etheric double. Pranic healing is applied to the aura which contains the blueprint of the physical body. This bioplasmic body absorbs life energy and distributes it to the organs and glands. Diseases first appear as energetic disruptions in the energy field before manifesting as ailments in the physical body.

What is the Human Aura (or the Invisible Energy Body)?
Scientific evidence provides tangible proof of the existence of the energy body and its relation to the health and wellbeing of the physical body. This has been termed as the "bioplasmic body" from the word "bio" meaning life and "plasma", the fourth state of matter after solids, liquids and gases. Scientific experiments conducted by the Russian scientist, Semyon Kirlian, using ultrasensitive photographic process showed a colourful, radiant energy field surrounding the physical bodies of humans, animals and plants. This energy field, or aura, interpenetrates the visible physical body and extends about 4 to 5 inches from the skin's surface. Experiments in Kirlian photography have also revealed that diseased energies appear first in the energy body before manifesting as a physical ailment.

Pranic healing is currently being taught to doctors, nurses, massage therapists, acupuncturists, chiropractors, the clergy, homemakers, engineers and many others in all walks of life. It has allowed them to heal confidently and consistently in the shortest learning time possible. Perhaps its popularity lies in the fact that it is very effective and easy to apply. In the palm of your hands are energy centres called chakras. Through a simple exercise these chakras will be activated. Once activated, these chakras will become sensitive to feeling others' energy. You can scan the energy field of a person to locate blockages and be able to cleanse, energize and revitalize the area with new prana. You can also use techniques to stop the drain of energy on your body that many health practitioners experience while working on others. You will actually energize yourself while you are healing someone else. Pranic healing procedures are simple and easy to learn. Behind the simplicity is a sophisticated technology.

What Is Pranic Healing?
Pranic healing is an ancient science and art of healing that utilizes prana (or chi/qi/ki) or life energy and the chakras or energy centres to heal diseased energy levels. The healing process involves the manipulation of the patient's chakras, ki and aura. It has also been called medical qigong (ki kung or ki healing), psychic healing, vitalic healing, therapeutic touch, lying of the hand, magnetic healing, faith healing, and charismatic healing.

1. It can help parents bring down the temperature of their children suffering from high fever in just a few hours and heal it in a day or two in most cases.

2. It can relieve headaches, gas pains, toothaches, and muscle pains almost immediately in most cases.

3. Coughs and colds can usually be cured in a day or two. Loose bowel movement can be healed in a few hours in most cases.

4. Major illnesses such as eye, liver, kidney and heart problems can be relieved in a few sessions and healed in a few months in many cases.

5. It increases the rate of healing by three times or more than the normal rate of healing. These are some of the few things that pranic healing can do. All of these assume that the healer has attained a certain degree of proficiency.

Pranic Healing Is Easy To Learn
Any healthy person of average intelligence, an average ability to concentrate, an open but discriminating mind and a certain degree of persistence can learn pranic healing in a relatively short period. Learning pranic healing is easier than learning to play the piano or painting. It’s as easy as learning to drive. Its basic principles and techniques can be learned in a few sessions. Pranic healing does require much practice and time to achieve a certain degree of proficiency.

CRYSTAL HEALING
What is Crystal Healing?
Crystal healing uses ideas and methods from many cultures combined together. The present day interest in crystal healing is simply a continuation of mankind’s fascination with gemstones and minerals down the ages. There has been no historical period, nor any culture that has not prized crystals for their visual, magical or healing properties.

Our current scientific understanding of the chemical structure and properties of crystals is comparatively recent yet our modern world would simply not be possible without crystals. From computers to car engines, lasers to space shuttles – all have vital components that are made from crystals. The properties of crystals derive from their orderliness and the stability of their atomic structure. If subjected to some outside force (such as heat, pressure, electricity or light) crystals are able to make minute adjustments to restore their internal stability. This is the quality that makes crystals so important in many different areas of technology We ourselves do not exist separate from the mineral kingdom as all life is built up using the raw materials of the planet. Any mineral or crystal collection reflects what we have in our bodies from iron crystals in our blood, to minerals that crystallise in our bones. The minerals we take in as food supplements and the fertilisers we use on our fields and gardens are the same materials that exist in the crystal forms we use as decoration or tools for healing.

A Crystal Healing Session
Most crystal healers work with a holistic model of the human being where the physical health is seen as part of a larger picture that includes the emotions, mental state, lifestyle and aspirations of the individual. When a body is diseased it’s usually because the natural balance or rhythm has been lost. Using crystals with their perfect atomic structure, offers patterns for the body to follow to help self-healing. Crystal healing can also be used to help someone achieve goals or work towards their full potential. Crystal healing is does not simply mend something that is out of balance or in a state of dis-ease. It can be used to create more coherence within the whole person to move forward in their life.During a crystal session you will be asked to lie down on a couch, sit in a chair or lay on coverings on the floor. No removal of clothing is required. Only your shoes and possibly your watch and/or jewellery will be removed for your own comfort.

Crystals will be placed on or around you and in some instances a combination of both. Depending on how the crystal therapist works, the crystals may be left for a few minutes and then new crystal placements made. This process can be repeated for as many times as your body requires. A typical session will run for approximately 45 minutes to one hour with a brief profile and medical history taken on your first visit.

How do crystals ‘work’?
No one knows how crystals and gemstones can help the healing processes of the body. It may be that the very nature of crystals increases the levels of harmony in the immediate environment. Introducing an element of order into a chaotic, disorganised state always tends to increase overall orderliness. When our own energy systems begin to break down under stress the simple, powerful resonance of a crystal may help us to clarify and reinstate our own harmonious patterns of health. Placing crystals close to energy imbalances, whether it is physical illness, emotional or mental upset, may encourage our body’s own healing processes to become more effective.

Science has yet to discover what is occurring during crystal healing. This in no way diminishes the real changes that are clearly felt by the participants and the lasting benefits that can be gained. Only by trying out a healing system for ourselves are we able to judge its worth.

Choosing crystals
Crystals are one of the Earth’s most beautiful treasures. There is such a wide variety of different types, shapes and sizes it often seems difficult to know which one is the right one for you. There are a number of ways to choose the right crystals for you. Choosing the crystals that are right for you is an individual thing. Crystals are just as individual as we are. It is generally an intuitive process. You will often find yourself ‘drawn’ to a particular crystal even out of a selection of the same type. Each individual crystal vibrates at a certain frequency. This vibration is at a frequency too high for us to experience on the physical plane but we pick up the vibrations on other levels; emotional, mental or spiritual. Everything on this planet is made of energy with its own bio-magnetic energy field surrounding it. This vibration is a dynamic thing and the frequency we resonate at changes with our moods, thoughts and physical health. If our energy field vibrates at the same frequency as the crystals we get a feeling of resonance or being ‘in tune’ with each other and the crystal ‘feels’ right for us. If we resonate at different frequencies then we can either ‘feel’ nothing for the crystal or experience uncomfortable feelings telling us that the crystal is not the right one for us at this time.

The best an easiest way to choose a crystal is to see if you are physically attracted to them. Ask yourself if you like its shape, colour, texture, inclusions (cracks, rainbows) etc. Once you have chosen a crystal visually, hold it and see how it ‘feels’. If it feels comfortable and you ‘feel’ happy with it then it’s the right crystal for you
